Hellooooo
I'm Emily and I'm an American writer, director, and actor.
Born in the Bay Area, raised in New York City, I now live in London (11 years and counting - yes, my accent has gone a little weird, no, it’s not on purpose) .
I write and make my own work (all sorts - theatre, film, short stories, essays, the odd bit of erotica - who doesn't love some smut?). I like to make funny, odd things about how we all want to be loved and are generally just horny, well meaning creatures.
Most recently, my 30-minute comedy pilot script, FUCK ME, was a semifinalist in Raindance Film Festival’s script competition - based on my first short, AWKWARD INTIMACY, which played at BAFTA-Qualifying PÖFF Shorts and BIFA-Qualifying Manchester Film Festival, amongst others (watch on Minute Shorts). My latest film, HERBS is bopping around festivals, most recently playing at BIFA-Qualifying Crystal Palace Film Festival and Fastnet Film Festival.
I’ve performed my work at Theatre503, VAULT Festival, Ed Fringe and LAMDA’s MishMash Festival, amongst others. I trained as an actor at LAMDA and received my MA in writing from The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.
I love reading and developing other people’s scripts (so if you’re into that go here).
Outside of my artistic work, I do work as a public speaking coach, utilising acting techniques to help students tell their stories with ease and authenticity.
